would like to provide our patients with an upbeat person who can do various things with patients. Such as reading, playing games, making puzzles, going for a stroll at the facility, having coffee, or joining a group activity. Creativity is endless, and sometimes the patient just wants to talk and chat.
We are looking for someone that will visit 1-4 times a month, if you make that great connection, we can up those visits. We need a visit to last at least one hour once a week, or more. We can sign off your hours for school or your employment as well. The paperwork after hiring is minimal and we can do it all electronically, with specific training once you are ready.
I will send an application, meet you close to your home for a coffee or soda, and we can talk about what your goals are for your volunteer experience.
There are no COVID restrictions, but sanitary habits are a must, as well as I will train you about PPE equipment that you will be given and how to use it. I honestly have volunteered for 13 years and have only used it once and it was provided by a facility. The goal is to be safe for you and your family as well.

Description
Providing care and comfort to patients. Opportunities include direct patient visitation and administrative support. We provide feedback to schools for volunteer credit. We provide internships for those in nursing and social work. Travel will be limited, with the exception of internships, which may be only to visit different sites. Our goal is to provide companionship as well as socialization to those who express desire to have a volunteer visit. Our scope of activities may be limitless, we help with light housekeeping, running errands, helping with activities, quiet time to reflect and hear life experiences.
