Caring individuals that want to share time with senior patients that need companionship and friendship. Some would like you to read a book, watch TV, spend some time talking to someone new, learning new things, playing games, making a puzzle, so many ideas can be fun. Our time is valuable to others, and it is to ourselves as well. Sometimes people are isolated and just need someone that will visit and don't want anything other than friendship. We are talking about an hour a week or sometimes longer, regular weekly visits and recording of time spent with patients. I try to schedule your patient visit close to your home for convenience. Getting involved in your own community. I would welcome the chance to meet you and tell you about our program and how you could make a difference on our team. I can send you an application, meet for an interview, send Orientation and then meet again for coffee or soda to recap all that you have reviewed and prepare you for a visit. We do pay for you to get a TB test, drug and background screening, but our company pays. I can also sign forms for school or work for your credits.

Needing volunteers that are eager to spend time with someone that needs a friend. Our patients are amazing and have so much to share with others. The stories of their lives are fascinating and can make you appreciate the time they still have to share with others. Some would like to play a game, make a puzzle, go for a walk, eat popcorn and watch a movie, have tea or coffee with someone, there are endless opportunities to be that special person. So, if you feel that you might be that special someone, let me know, I will welcome the opportunity to have you as part of our team. Application, Orientation, training, PPE kit given and trained on how to use it. We do not require CPR classes to volunteer with Hospice Plus. I will take you to coffee or a soda for an interview and meet you close to your home.

How would you like to visit with someone that wants to have a friend? Someone to talk to, watch TV with, go for a walk, make a puzzle, play a game, have coffee and do your nails? You never know what you can do to make other people happy. We work with terminally ill patients that would like to have a visitor, someone that they can share their live experiences with, talk about your experiences, and make experiences together. We do require some specifics, such as an application, background checks, TB testing, and drug screening. I would like to meet you for coffee or a soda and learn what you want to contribute as a volunteer. Some of our nursing homes would like to have help with activities such as painting classes, playing group games, having a teatime, or social hour. The possibilities are there if you want to make a difference. Please consider meeting me and talking about what a wonderful gift it is to give to others when they are in need of companionship. We allow pet therapy if you have a trained animal. We paint fingernails, can put on a fun fashion show, help with holiday outings or resident parties.

We strive to connect with all of our patients and provide personalized physical, mental and spiritual care.

Description

Providing care and comfort to patients. Opportunities include direct patient visitation and administrative support. We provide feedback to schools for volunteer credit. We provide internships for those in nursing and social work. Travel will be limited, with the exception of internships, which may be only to visit different sites. Our goal is to provide companionship as well as socialization to those who express desire to have a volunteer visit. Our scope of activities may be limitless, we help with light housekeeping, running errands, helping with activities, quiet time to reflect and hear life experiences.
