These are some of duties that our current dog coordinator would like assistance with. You will not be asked to do everything on this list, it is merely a list of all activities that make up the dog coordinator position. You will be working directly with at least two volunteers on the position.
- Intake/ Rehoming Dogs
- Contact individuals who need help rehoming dogs in need.
- Work with the dog intake committee to discuss dogs coming into the program.
- Process paperwork with NMAF office, authorize necessary vet care, coordinate with surrendering party and foster home
- Interview possible intakes, occasionally meet new dogs or transport dogs to and from vet.
- Foster Care Program
- Recruit individuals to foster dogs in their homes.
- Interview, review and approve foster parent application.
- Visit potential foster home, process foster application.
- Set-up new foster home and supplies
- Provide support, problem solving, mentoring foster parents when necessary
- Coordinating/authorizing vet care
- Coordinate returns, moves, boarding of NMAF dogs
- Monitor and update dog medical records.
- Write and or edit dog profiles for websites and adoption clinic
- Help with record-keeping in office and on Google Drive
- Adoptions
- Compile adoption folders and related paperwork (vet records, etc.)
- Screen and interview potential adopters, check references
- Visit potential adoptor’s home in person or virtually
- Assist with post-adoption follow-up and problem-solving, if necessary
- Help staff the weekly adoption clinic

Mission Statement
Rescue homeless dogs and cats and provide temporary quality care for them in foster homes until permanent adoptive homes can be found. Promote animal welfare through educational efforts and other services. Reduce overpopulation in companion animals and feral cats through spay-neuter services. Provide needed medical care to senior dogs and cats with the goal to either make them more adoptable or to provide end of life hospice care at an NMAF foster home or through a sponsorship at a senior care sanctuary.

Our organization has been helping dogs and cats find homes for 40 years. We are a no-kill foster based organization.
