Outreach Volunteer

Position Overview:

The Outreach Volunteer will play a key role in helping Opal’s Heart extend its reach and impact within the community. This role involves engaging with the public, raising awareness about our programs, and fostering positive relationships with various community groups and stakeholders. The Outreach Volunteer will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to implement outreach strategies, participate in community events, and support various initiatives aimed at expanding our organization’s presence and influence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in and represent Opal’ at community events, workshops, and meetings to promote our mission and services.

  • Public Awareness: Assist in distributing informational materials, including brochures, flyers, and newsletters, to raise awareness about our programs and services.

  • Outreach Activities: Support the planning and execution of outreach activities, including community presentations, informational sessions, and volunteer fairs.

  • Relationship Building: Help build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, local businesses, schools, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Volunteer Recruitment: Assist in identifying and recruiting new volunteers by sharing information about volunteer opportunities and encouraging community members to get involved.

  • Data Collection: Collect and record feedback from community members and event participants to help improve outreach strategies and activities.

  • Social Media Support: Contribute to social media outreach efforts by sharing event information, success stories, and organizational updates on various platforms.

Qualifications:
  • Passion for the Mission: A strong commitment to Opal’s Heart’s mission and values.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking to groups and engaging with the public.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of people and organizations.

  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive Attitude: Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing needs and priorities.

  • Experience: Previous experience in community outreach, volunteering, or public engagement is a plus but not required.

This organization was created to fulfill a passion in the Executive Director's heart: to help out in every way possible to those in need.
