We at Gentiva Hospice are looking for therapy trained dogs to visit our patients and other residents in assisted living facilities or in a patients home. Pet therapy has been shown to improve patient's energy levels, self-esteem and moods, as well as decreased depression. Their visits can increase motor skills and movement. This often increased social skills and verbal communication while decreasing boredom.
Few things can benefit patients on their end-of-life journey as much as a therapy dog visit. Patient visits are flexible and in the volunteers community. Owners will be trained in hospice and volunteer support.
The pet visits you will make are in your area.
Please consider joining our team of professional caregivers.
