ORGANIZATION: LifeSmart Education

Who We Are

LifeSmart Education is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that enhances the availability of nontraditional educational classes and resources for underserved youth and communities. We help those who need unwavering, positive life management skills. Youth aren't born knowing the life skills that we wish they did; they must be taught and molded into productive members of society. At LifeSmart Education we teach youth how to be socially and emotionally successful and enable them to achieve their highest potential as law-abiding global citizens.

Summary

LifeSmart Education seeks to foster personal growth and development for young children with our new peer mentoring program. We are allowing children aged 11 to 16 to interact and listen to guidance from our trained volunteer mentors aged 12 to 22.

The primary objective of the PeerMentor Program is to help teenagers aged 11 to 16 years old from underserved communities build self-confidence and resilience. The program aims to provide youths with the resources and support they need to overcome issues such as lack of motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. These issues often manifest as extreme shyness and can have a profound negative impact on the lives of young people. The mentoring program offers a variety of activities and resources designed to nurture teenagers’ personal growth, enrich their lives, and foster a sense of belonging.

Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of teenagers?

We are seeking volunteers to serve as mentors to middle school and high school students who are 2 to 3 years younger. We want mentors who have a good heart and a positive and helpful attitude. Mentors don't necessarily need to be excellent academically or athletically, but they should be willing to share their life experiences and offer helpful advice and be an active listeners. If you have a passion for helping young people, this is your chance to get involved and make a real difference in someone's life.

Please note that parental consent is needed to serve as a mentor in the program.

Mission Statement

Helping underserved populations with a transformative education that empowers, motivates, and encourages them to become productive,law-abiding, global citizens.

Description

Diversity has been an area of concern in international education for many years, Global Diversity Abroad, our sister company, mission is to present the opportunity for historically over-looked high school students with the possibility to learn on an international platform. This program is specially designed to meet the needs of minority and at-risk youth, guiding them through a course of study that will expose them to drastic life changing experiences abroad.

Our goal is to formulate a preventative social mindset where students are exposed to new ideas, build positive relationships, develop confidence and experience new challenges. This is our model to empower young people to be globally-minded individuals by transforming their lives.
