The Ossining Food Pantry offers Choice Pantry food distribution to our clients. Volunteers are needed to help with: greeting clients, assist with on line check-in, interview new clients, staff tables with food selections, stock/replenish pallets and tables, and break-down cardboard boxes and cartons for recycling.

Schedule: Wednesdays Evenings from 5:30 - 8:15 pm

Mission Statement

The Ossining Food Pantry, founded in 1988, is 100% staffed by volunteers. Our mission is to help eliminate food insecurity in our community. We serve people in need from Ossining, Briarcliff Manor, and Scarborough.

Description

Today we help approximately 350 families each week through a range of services including Choice Pantry food distributions, deliveries to homebound clients and agencies, and a Mobile Food Pantry, cosponsored with Star of Bethlehem Church and Feeding Westchester.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Time commitment: about 3 hours per week.
  • Volunteers must have completed high school. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are desirable for client-facing volunteers. Check-in staff must have basic computer skills. Being able to lift grocery bags or cases that weigh ~25 lbs. is needed.
