Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview and schedule students
- Provide coordination and assistance to the dental command and in the dental clinic in manner specified in Dental Assistant Program
- Maintain professionalism and conduct as stated in Red Cross policy
- Ensure that volunteer hours are recorded and tracked per Red Cross policy
- Maintain confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Ensure program participant hours are properly recorded and documented
- Partner with the Dental Treatment Facility to host graduation for students
- Work with Red Cross staff to create completion certificates
- Assist in development of course completion memo’s
Time Commitment
- 10 hours per week to meet course curriculum requirements; may vary depending on clinic workload, deployments or other factors.
- Duration of program, usually 6 to 9 months.
Qualifications
- Must become a Red Cross Volunteer
- Must be a DoD ID card holder and an American Citizen
- Does not need to be a student in the Dental Assistant Program
- Willingness to comply with installation and Red Cross COVID-19 policies and willingness to carry vaccination card to work assignments.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Able to commit to time requirements set forth
- Good organizational skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Training Requirements
- Orientation to the American Red Cross
- Hospital Orientation
- HIPAA training
- Other safety related training as necessary, to include all Dental Facility in-processing and annual/biennial training requirements.
