Education: * Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience: * Nursing: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- RN License (Required)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Preferred)
The Nurse will collaborate with our Medical Director on all medical matters as needed. The Nurse will provide the following services:
- Performs limited obstetric ultrasounds
- Assesses client needs and makes nursing judgments that reflect safe nursing practices
- Accurately assesses abnormal ultrasounds and addresses them in accordance with LMA’s policies
- Oversees at-risk client follow-up and referrals per Medical Director’s suggestion
- Provides accurate discharge instructions and any necessary follow-up for clients
- Provides appropriate resources and referrals to clients (including prenatal care, post-abortion care and STD testing and treatment, etc.)
- Provides options education for women facing a pregnancy decision based on our statement of faith
- Performs urine pregnancy tests according to policy when needed
- Signs completed Pregnancy Intake Forms and verification of correct LMP
- Attends medical conferences which offer professional training and information pertinent to the ultrasound and medical programs to maintain skills needed to continue to perform in your role
- Participates in yearly and ongoing training and evaluation

LMA's mission is to equip families with life-affirming services and information on pregnancy, parenting, and relationships to strengthen families so they can thrive in safe, healthy homes. As a Black women-led non-profit, LMA is volunteer-driven with an emphasis on underserved minorities in South Phoenix, Arizona.
Description
LMA focuses on South Phoenix, Arizona which records 83% minority population, negligible health care resources, and numerous social problems that exacerbate each other.
Envisioned and incorporated in 2020, LMA CEO and Board have been raising funds, developing partnerships, engaging with the community, and assessing the needs of South Phoenix. We created a business model that addresses the whole person and the whole family--men, women, and children--in the context of the community.
LMA addresses several critical areas of need in South Phoenix related to health care and overall health and well-being:
*Access to healthcare and health education, especially pregnancy and STD-related health matters
*Strengthening the family with mentoring, parenting/relationship skills training, and referral to other social services
*Moving families into greater economic stability through financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
LMA has served the South Phoenix community since 2021 with these free services: parenting and fatherhood classes, doula assistance, baby supplies, bi-monthly family events and parenting education. We are developing relationships and building trust so community members view LMA as a "go-to" resource. In June 2023, we expand our offerings to include pregnancy testing and education; ultrasound scans with nurse consultations; STD testing, community education, and nurse consultations; teen sex education, and other family strengthening programs.
