One in five people in Los Angeles County experiences food insecurity. Our vision at Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County. The Food Bank’s volunteer department engages more than 15,000 volunteers annually.
As a Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (in partnership with Hunger Free America - Americorps Senior 55+ Volunteer Program), in-person, Volunteer Lead, you will assist volunteer staff in providing a safe, engaging, and rewarding experience for all the volunteers who come to the Food Bank. Helpful skills are customer service oriented, strong time management, comfortable public speaking, detail-oriented, and basic computer skills. Hours are 4-6 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months. Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 am - 12 pm or 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm PST. Location: City of Industry, CA 90601

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
