A 67-year-old woman with ALS would love a volunteer to help with meal prep (first priority) or laundry in her home. She can walk and talk, so is able to move around the house and provide instructions, but has very limited use of her arms and hands. Her husband has also had a stroke with reduced use of his right side, so he is best at reheating food (vs. preparing full meals).
The best times for a volunteer to visit would be any late morning (after 9 am) or afternoon, any day but Sunday. They would ideally like a volunteer to help visit and prepare meals weekly for approximately 3-4 hours at a time: if you are available less frequently, please let us know as we can be flexible and discuss other options. They do not have any pets, nor does anyone smoke inside their home.
If you have extra time in your week to help a neighbor in need, we'd love to hear from you! This opportunity is part of the ALS Association's Family Assistance Program:
