A 74-year-old man with ALS would like a volunteer to help him with chores, meal prep, and/or running errands. His schedule is quite flexible any day of the week but Sunday, in the morning or afternoon. He would ideally like a volunteer who is able to visit for 1-3 hours weekly and does have a dog. If you enjoy tidying up, cooking, or bringing things where they need to be, we'd love to hear from you! This opportunity is part of the ALS Association's Family Assistance Program: https://www.als.org/support/programs/family-assistance-program-1

A 75-year-old woman with ALS would like a volunteer to assist her with meal prep and/or yard work (please reach out if you are interested in either!). Tuesdays or Thursdays work best with her schedule in the morning or afternoon. She would ideally like a volunteer who is able to visit weekly for 2-3 hours. For those with allergies, she does have a dog and cat in her home. If you have a few extra hours each week to help a neighbor in need, we'd love to hear from you! A 78-year-old man with ALS and his wife would appreciate a volunteer to help with trimming the parts of their lawn that a mower cannot reach (they have a trimmer available to use). As the weather gets colder, they would also be interested in a volunteer to help them shovel. They have a one-acre yard containing several buildings. If you enjoy being outdoors and active, we'd love to hear from you! A 58-year-old man with ALS and his wife have had a wonderful volunteer helping them out for the past seven months who is now unfortunately moving. They will miss her greatly and are hoping for someone else to provide support to them as she did. This volunteer was a particular support to the wife in terms of indoor organization, being available for random tasks as needed, etc. Some of the main tasks she'd love help with include cleaning (especially floors and moving items between upstairs/downstairs as she has a history of back injuries) She would appreciate a self-starter who is eager to jump right in and ask, "What else do you need?" She would also just appreciate having someone to talk to and be a companion. Scheduling can be flexible based on what works for the volunteer: if you think you'd be a good fit to support a caregiver in this way, we'd love to hear from you!
