We are looking for volunteers that own a certified therapy dog or animal to visit with our hospice patients. You and your therapy animal can help us bring a smile to the faces of animal lovers who can no longer own a pet due to their declining health. May visit with patients at their private homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
As a volunteer you are an important part of our team that assists us in providing holistic, supportive care to individuals at the end of their lives.
Therapy animals are required to be licensed with an appropriate therapy organization (i.e. Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs International, etc.) and be up to date on their vaccinations. Human volunteers will go through an onboarding and orientation process that will familiarize you with hospice and set you up for success. No experience with hospice required.
The hours are flexible and can work around your schedule.
