As a Friendly Visitor, you'll offer non-medical support and companionship to hospice patients and their families wherever they call home. You'll have the flexibility to set your own hours, availability, area of service, and activities. Volunteer Activities Include: Providing companionship and friendly support through conversation, reminiscing, or playing games Collecting life stories and special memories for journals, memory boards, and art projects Sending encouraging letters and cards Assisting with light household chores or running errands Making blankets, quilts, pillows, and crafts for patients Supporting bereaved families through mailings, phone calls, and in-home grief support visits Representing Harmony Hospice Care at Community Outreach and Special Events Qualifications: Availability and skills relevant to your chosen volunteer activity Ability to work independently and communicate effectively Empathy and compassion Completion of background check, TB test, physical, and provided training You skills, talents, and hobbies can make a difference!
