STAIR-Annapolis, Start The Adventure In Reading, is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for AACPS first and second graders reading below grade level. We are in need of substitute tutors at Van Bokkelen Elementary, Severn Elementary (Reese Road) and Four Seasons Elementary in Gambrills. We have 13 sites conveniently located at Elementary Schools across Annapolis and throughout Anne Arundel County. No experience necessary and we offer training! Substitute tutors have the opportunity to work with each of the students at their site on an as-needed basis. Our Severn site meets on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:30-3:45 and our Van Bokkelen site meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:45. Our Four Seasons site meets on Monday and Thursdays from 2:30-3:45.

Forty five minute Zoom information sessions for New volunteers are regularly scheduled in the Fall and Spring. This information session will be an overview of STAIR and an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about our program. Please contact volunteer_coordinator@stairannapolis.org to learn about the next scheduled session.

Following the information session, there will also be a one-and a half hour curriculum training in early December.
