The Carboncopies Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support to scientists working on challenges critical to whole brain emulation (WBE).

We believe that the possibilities and opportunities afforded by WBE represent the most promising technological path to overcoming our fundamental limitations as a species and as individuals.

The volunteers who donate their time are the driving force of the Carboncopies Foundation. We are always looking for more people to join our team - and you don’t need to have an advanced degree to make an important contribution.

*This is a REMOTE Volunteer position*

The Carboncopies Foundation is growing and needs a lead for our governance department. We are looking for someone who can take on the managerial tasks of governing, so that our resources can be used more efficiently. As the lead of the governance department, you would exemplify leadership and management as well as legal compliance, the main focus being on development.

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Lead Governance team to organize workshops, develop protocols, and carry out additional support to help Carboncopies Leads grow in their roles and feel part of a greater team.
• Ensure the Carboncopies leadership team is able to effectively manage team resources in order to reach desired results.
• Ensure the Carboncopies leadership team feels connected to their work and to each other.
• Ensure the growth and effectiveness of Carboncopies teams through leadership.

This position will allow you to develop as a leader, strengthen management skills, and create bonds with an extraordinary group of people.

Qualifications ( The following qualifications and/or experience aren’t required but would be helpful for you in taking on this role):

• Previous experience with team management and leadership positions.
• Previous experience working with/for a non-profit organization.

Time Commitment:

• 1 hour weekly team meeting
• About 10 hours / week
• At least 4 months
