The Friends of the Palo Alto Library - FOPAL - is a nonprofit organization founded in 1938 with the sole purpose of providing grants to the Palo Alto libraries focused mainly on programs and updating the library's collection. Books and media are donated to us and we either sell them through our monthly Cubberley book sales or sell our high-value material through Amazon and eBay. In the last pre-COVID year we provided the library with $200,000 of funds.

FOPAL is actively looking for new volunteers to support all areas of its activities, in particular its high-value team.

We are looking for people with a love of books who are interested in researching antiquarian books, high-value books, and media and determining their value in preparation for sale. FOPAL has documentation that explains all of these processes as well as training and mentoring. Some of this work can be done at home and some at FOPAL's annex at Cubberley and all of it can be done on your own personal schedule.

If you are interested in learning more about FOPAL and joining our high-value online e-business team please call Janette Herceg at 650-494-1266
