The Carboncopies Foundation is currently growing and we are looking for a Co-Lead for the Publishing Department. You will work alongside the current lead of the Publishing Department to run and develop the department. Together you will be responsible for all work related to making sure the Department runs smoothly. Your role will be to support the Lead of the Publishing Department in onboarding new team members, running calls and meetings and performing priority tasks when necessary. This includes developing tools for leading the Department and ensuring team members are engaged with their work. In this work you will lead a team of volunteers, together with the main Lead. These team members will help you with the work you are responsible for.
Your tasks will include:
- Setting publishing targets & strategies.
- Planning effective activities to achieve team members engagement.
- Planning and running regular calls with team members.
- Leading the HR volunteer team, ensuring they are engaged and effective.
- Providing guidance & hands-on leadership for planned activities within the Publishing Department .
- Taking on other hands-on tasks related to Publishing as needed.
The following qualifications and/or experience isn’t required but would be helpful for you in taking on this role:
- Experience with non-profit activities, especially team management.
- Work experience in a (team) management position.
- Ability to work independently, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Fascination and active interest in neuroscience, biotechnology, artificial intelligence or other relevant emerging fields.

To promote and accelerate the whole brain emulation, our foundation is focused on:
Encouraging scientific collaboration to create stepping-stone technologies
Publishing reviews of scientific literature and technology developments
Maintaining R&D roadmaps to identify and address scientific and engineering challenges
Increasing general awareness of the human adaptability gap and the possibility that neural prosthesis, whole brain emulation and substrate-independent mind may offer solutions
Hosting conferences or workshops, and providing informational material
