The Concord Squadron of New Hampshire Wing, Civil Air Patrol is looking for Pilots & CFIs to become part of the all-volunteer Auxiliary of the United States Air Force.
If you’re a pilot, Civil Air Patrol (CAP) has plenty of opportunities for you. CAP operates the largest fleet of single-engine piston aircraft in the world, primarily Cessna 172s and 182s, and CAP pilots fly those planes to perform missions in service to their local communities such as search & rescue, disaster assessment, cadet orientation flying, and U.S. Air Force support.
If you’re a CFI, CAP is working with the U.S. Air Force to provide additional flight training opportunities to young men and women interested in becoming pilots. Civil Air Patrol CFIs also train fellow member pilots for upgrades such as TAA (Garmin G-1000 glass), instrument, and commercial ratings.
Becoming a CAP mission pilot, instructor, or check pilot requires in-depth training in CAP flight operations and a volunteer commitment of regular training meetings and occasional weekend search and rescue exercises, which can take up to a year to accomplish.
If you’re up for the task, CAP offers ordinary citizens stimulating training opportunities that few experience outside the military. The Concord Squadron is training and preparing its members in the skills necessary to meet our mission of providing important services to our communities in a time of need.
The Concord Squadron meets each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the NH Army National Guard Armory (1 Minuteman Way, Concord). Visit our unit website at https://concord.cap.gov/.
Qualifications:
- FAA-rated ASEL or ASEL CFI (commercial & instrument are helpful);
- At least 150 hrs PIC time;
- Age 18 or older;
- Able to pass a background check.
We invite you to visit a weekly squadron meeting. You'll get a chance to meet some of our members who will discuss the organization, provide you with information and answer any questions you might have about the Civil Air Patrol. For more information about Civil Air Patrol & its missions in New Hampshire, visit http://nhwg.cap.gov
Veterans and disabled veterans are encouraged to join.
