Everyone should have access to healthy food. Second Harvest provides nutritious groceries and fresh produce at distribution sites throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. These sites are volunteer-run and rely on committed, dedicated volunteers who can support the effort on an ongoing basis. We invite you to join us in providing a warm and welcoming environment for our clients.

Activities could include assisting with set up, unloading and moving food boxes from pallets, loading boxes into the cars of our clients, and site cleanup. This volunteer activity does require some heavy lifting (15-30 lbs.) and regular movement. Volunteers must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, maintain strict confidentiality of all member and volunteer information, as well as follow all guidelines and instructions provided by the site leader.

Distribution is held at the community room located on the other side of the leasing office (300A Checkers Dr.) Building 300A is located between buildings 316 and 318 next to pool #2. Volunteers can park in the leasing office parking lot and pick up a parking pass at the community room before the distribution.
