Traditions Health, d.b.a. Hospice Community Care, is actively seeking Friendly Visitor Volunteers to visit with our patients in Chester, Chesterfield, N. Chesterfield and the City of Richmond. If you don't have volunteer experience, it's okay because we will teach you!
Friendly Visitors are just what their name implies. Friendly Visitors visit with our terminally ill patients and they "bring the sunshine" with them. Some patients enjoy being taken outside (weather permitting) others just want to sit and talk or watch a classic movie on television. You may be able to play a game of checkers or a board game like Sorry! As a Friendly Visitor, you will be taught CDC protocols during your training and you will be expected to follow proper use of hand sanitizer and hand washing, mask usage and social distancing.
As a Friendly Visitor, you will need to complete an application, submit to a background check and a TB test. You will then need to attend volunteer training that complies with Covid-19 protocols. Once you are assigned to a patient, we ask that you visit a minimum of five hours a month.
