Ombudsman volunteers act as advocates at long-term care facilities working to ensure that the residents’ rights are being protected and helping residents with problems that they are unable to resolve alone. Do you want to make a real difference by improving the quality of life for long-term care residents? We are seeking individuals who are empathetic, diplomatic, and skilled communicators to join an amazing group of dedicated Ombudsmen! At Springwell we cover all Nursing Homes and Rest Homes in 8 towns: Belmont, Brookline, Needham, Newton, Waltham, Watertown, Weston and Wellesley.

Description

Springwell, Inc., a private, non-profit organization, is part of a statewide network of Aging Services Access Points and nationwide network of Area Agencies on Aging that coordinate care services to enhance the quality of life for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families. Services include homemaking, personal care, grocery shopping, home delivered meals, transportation, and more. Volunteers provide vital help delivering meals, doing grocery shopping, visiting with isolated older adults, helping with budgeting and monthly bills, and advocating for those living in nursing homes.
