Looking for a hands-on volunteer opportunity that works around your schedule? Are you handy with a hammer? Join our Honey Do Crew.

Honey Do Crew volunteers work to keep older adults safe in their homes through small home repairs and maintenance projects.

Our volunteers can often help with projects such as a step repair or installing grab bars and hand rails. After we receive an application from a care receiver, a project manager evaluates the project before a volunteer is assigned. This helps us match you with a project best suited for your skill level.

Through your service you can help Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley enhance the dignity and quality of life for all people in our community, neighbor to neighbor.

Mission Statement

THE MISSION of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is to support the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities by lending a helping hand, neighbor to neighbor.

Description

Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is dedicated to helping older adults (60+) in Kanawha and Putnam counties sustain their independence and remain in their own homes as long as possible. Our volunteers help our care receivers by performing small acts of service that can mean the difference between aging in place and being forced to leave their homes. These include providing free services like transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store, making friendly telephone reassurance calls, performing minor home maintenance tasks, and more.
