Do you like making new friends and talking on the phone? Connect with an older adult in your community through our reassurance calls program.

This program is intended for our care receivers who may live alone, have little or no contact with others on a daily basis, or may have a medical condition that makes them vulnerable. Volunteers are encouraged to call their care receiver/s once a week to check-in. These calls reduce social isolation and reconnect our care receivers to the community.

Through your service you can help Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley enhance the dignity and quality of life for all people in our community, neighbor to neighbor.

About Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley

Location:

P.O. Box 11623, Charleston, WV 25339, US

Mission Statement

THE MISSION of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is to support the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities by lending a helping hand, neighbor to neighbor.

Description

Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is dedicated to helping older adults (60+) in Kanawha and Putnam counties sustain their independence and remain in their own homes as long as possible. Our volunteers help our care receivers by performing small acts of service that can mean the difference between aging in place and being forced to leave their homes. These include providing free services like transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store, making friendly telephone reassurance calls, performing minor home maintenance tasks, and more.
