MINNESOTA NORDIC SKI OPENER
Sat. December 7, 2024 (Elm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove)
Embrace winter by kicking off the cross-country ski season at the Minnesota Nordic Ski Opener! Skiers of all abilities and ages are invited to kick off winter with free skiing, free rental equipment, and free ski lessons.

Volunteers are needed to help with: greeting/orienting participants, fire tending, cocoa runners (keeping hot cocoa stocked), ski lesson assistants, and ski buddies (help novice skiers on their first lap around a groomed track).

About Three Rivers Park District

Mission Statement
The mission of Three Rivers Park District is to promote environmental stewardship through recreation and education in a natural resources-based park system.
Description
Volunteers help to make the Park District a fun, safe, educational environment for people of all ages, interests and abilities. Volunteers may be involved with nature, cultural history, recreation and farm programs; site enhancement; events; golf course; public safety; and, natural resources management. - 4 hour shifts (somewhat flexible)
- SKI BUDDY or SKI LESSON ASSISTANT: able to stand for the duration of the shift; come prepared to be outdoors for the duration of the volunteer shift; provide own classic skis and outdoor gear.
