The YMCA READS program is in need of volunteer mentors to assist in developing children's reading skills. Volunteers will help with reading programs on computers, listen to and help children read orally, and utilize different reading activities during each session. The assignment is available on any school day from 3:15pm to 5:30pm.
The mission of YMCA Reads is to enable at-risk and disadvantaged children in kindergarten through third grade, regardless of their race, economic status, or capabilities, to increase their reading skills through structured after-school reading instruction and mentoring.
