ORGANIZATION: Springwell, Inc.

HESSCO/Springwell Money Management Program --- Volunteers Make a Big Difference --- This is a great opportunity to help a senior in a very important way. Help sort mail, prioritize bills, write checks and balance checkbooks.

The Money Management Program assists elders, who for a variety of reasons, need help with monthly bill paying activities. Most clients suffer from physical or cognitive impairments that impede their ability to effectively maintain their household finances.

Elders in the program are matched with trained volunteers who provide one-on-one support that targets the client’s specific needs. Volunteers typically help with organizing and paying bills, maintaining the check register, reconciling bank statements, and advocating with service providers. The elder maintains full control over his/her money and retains check-signing and decision-making capacity at all times.

We will provide training and on-going professional support. This opportunity requires just a few hours per month and is a wonderful way to help an elder in need.
