Looking for specific skills and those just wanting to give their hearts to hospice. You pick your own schedule!
Comprehensive Hospice Volunteer training including guest speakers, no experience necessary
Do you have a certified pet therapy animal? Are you a hairstylist? A massage therapist? A veteran looking to impact other veterans? An artist or musician? A recently retired or heading towards retirement individual looking to impact your community?? Beacon Hospice in Portsmouth, NH is looking for you!! Great opportunity also to grow professionally and connect with like-minded peers.
Attend a 5-week extensive hospice volunteer training where you will learn and hear from major disciplines within a hospice organization. Cost is free, book is given free to keep after the training if continuing on to be a hospice volunteer. Enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded people who have enormous hearts to give back to those who need it most. **Beacon Hospice is a We Honor Veteran partner and is very active in honoring veterans through pinning ceremonies and matching veteran patients with veteran volunteers. Other volunteering roles could be (but not limited to): reminiscing, holding a hand, sitting with families, creating memory boards, writing letters and greeting cards, singing, saying a prayer, sitting vigil at end of life, vet-to-vet visits, making phone calls and more!!
Our volunteers see patients in the Greater Portsmouth area, Exeter and in York County Maine - we are a great group!
Attendees will be asked whether they have received the Covid -19 vaccination and boosters.
