Providing Goody bags for the Terminally Ill provides hope from our volunteer match community. You can purchase brown lunch bags at a grocery store. Decorate them as you wish and purchase individually wrapped items such as: soft fruit snacks, rice crispy treats, soft granola bars, soft candies, craft items, deck of cards, nail polish, tooth brushes and toothpaste, soap, body wash, baby powder and maybe a pair of socks if you wish. You can add a little note to say, "Wishing you a good day." You can make 30 or 300, whatever you would like to make. This is a great individual volunteer event or this can also be a great team builder for co-workers to get together. You can start this event whenever you wish!
For the patient's love ones who are taking care of these patients (24/7), our volunteer match community can also provide goody bags of hope and you can let them know in a note with good thoughts for their day along with the same types of snacks and items. If you have any questions on what kind of things for purchase for these goody bags, please call me at 912-661-0358. Once you have finished these bags you would either drop them off our office or we can pick them up. Thank you so much for your consideration and making the day of a terminally ill patient and their love ones. You truly provide hope to our patients and families.

Mission Statement
The Colleagues of Compassus Hospice are committed to keeping The Hospice Promise by delivering the highest quality of care, serving the needs of patients and families and spreading the stories of hospice to those with whom they come into contact.
Description
Most volunteers feel personally rewarded through offering their time, energy and compassion when they see how much they are able to help patients and families. Further benefits frequently experienced by our volunteers include:
- Greater self-knowledge from insights gained from relationships with patients, their families and from the hospice volunteer training.
- Spiritual growth from supporting a person through the final days while increasing the awareness of their own sense of spiritual values.
The people that make up Compassus are dedicated to compassionate care, clinical excellence and providing comfort and support to patients and their families with end-of-life issues. This includes our volunteers.
At Compassus, we believe that every life is unique and deserves a meaningful and personal final journey. Perhaps you’ve experienced hospice services with a member of your family, or are looking for a meaningful way to volunteer your time. If you believe that giving your time can enhance the lives of others, we encourage you to explore volunteer opportunities with Compassus.
