The Gathering, at Lyngblomsten, is searching for compassionate volunteers to join our team! We offer a fun and rewarding way to support individuals with early memory loss and their caregivers.
The Gathering provides caregivers a few hours' break while volunteers like you enjoy time with participants who have early memory loss. Caregivers bring their loved one (participant) to one of two locations, St. Paul (Como Neighborhood) or Lino Lakes. Volunteers help participants take part in staff-led, brain-stimulating activities that are fun for everyone. You might work on word puzzles, participate in gentle movement, enjoy some music, complete a craft project, and finish up the day with a story. Training is provided. This is an incredibly rewarding volunteer role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of the participants and their caregivers.
Join us as a Respite Assistant (ratio 2 participants to 1 volunteer). The Gathering is a four-hour program held multiple times a week at the Como and Lino Lakes sites. As a volunteer, you'll be part of a caring community of support and friendship.
Please contact Melanie at mjagolino@lyngblomsten.org or 651-632-5499 to learn more. For more information on The Gathering program, visit our website: https://www.lyngblomsten.org/community-services/caregiver-resources1/gathering/.
New volunteers will attend orientation and complete a Dept of Human Services background study with fingerprinting (required for working with vulnerable individuals).
