Trained volunteers serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Stark County Park District by assisting Wildlife Rehab staff in animal care and other daily work responsibilities in the department.
· Provide information and serve as a positive role model to visitors
· Feed and water Program Animals inside and outside
· Clean cages as needed
· Wash and put away pet taxis and other transport containers
· Mist reptiles and amphibians
· Daily miscellaneous housekeeping chores including laundry, dishes, general cleaning
· Feed rehab neonates with additional training
· Assist programming staff with animal handling needs with additional training· Must attend orientation at the Wildlife Center before completing the first volunteer shift.
The Rehab position requires a minimum of two hours of volunteer time per week. More hours may be available depending on department needs. To remain an active volunteer, one must have a minimum of 32 hours annually.
