Would you like to learn more about becoming a Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley volunteers?
Contact us to schedule your own 'Pop-Up Training' and we'll chat one-on-one at a time that is most convenient for you!
This program has proven very popular and effective for folks interested in serving the older adults in our community. Faith in Action volunteers lend a helping hand to seniors in our community, neighbor to neighbor, by providing free transportation to medical appointments, trips to the grocery store, reassurance calls, and friendly visits. Our Honey Do Crews assist with minor home repair and maintenance projects.
Our volunteers have a unique and wonderful flexibility to select which opportunities speak to their hearts and to perform as many or as few hours of service per month as they like.
All volunteers are required to attend ONE Volunteer Orientation Training session. These individual (or bring a friend) training sessions are a little bit shorter than our larger hosted events, and a whole lot more personal.

Mission Statement
THE MISSION of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is to support the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities by lending a helping hand, neighbor to neighbor.
Description
Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is dedicated to helping older adults (60+) in Kanawha and Putnam counties sustain their independence and remain in their own homes as long as possible. Our volunteers help our care receivers by performing small acts of service that can mean the difference between aging in place and being forced to leave their homes. These include providing free services like transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store, making friendly telephone reassurance calls, performing minor home maintenance tasks, and more.
