Summary: Spectrum360 hosts the annual Walk for a Lifetime event in the summer. We are looking for volunteers to help us make it a successful event! We need energetic, spirited and motivated individuals to work on the planning sub-committees in the areas of sponsorship, auction and event logistics. Below are the job descriptions for each of the committees, the S360 Development team will be helping to assist you with these jobs. About Walk for a Lifetime: This fun-filled morning brings together students, families, alumni, and community supporters to walk in honor of Spectrum360's community. Participants had the chance to visit vendor tables, enter our raffle for a chance to win prizes, get their face painting, play games, and get balloon animals. Committee Objective: Overall execution and participation in the Walk for a Lifetime event, including attending committee and work group meetings, completing task assignments given by the committee or working group, volunteering at the event and making a personal/business donation. The Committee supports sponsorship, auction, event logistics and fundraising to hit the event goal of $230,000 (net). Length of Involvement: January to June 1 hour meetings monthly from January to June Bi-monthly meetings in May 0-3 hours per month for volunteer task assignments delegated by the committee or working group Minimum Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month. (Possible additional hours in May) EVENT CHAIRS/CO-CHAIRS (1-2) Lend your name and stature to the event in an effort to raise revenue. Chair Walk for a Lifetime Committee Meetings. Assist with the identification and recruitment of committee members. Assist with the identification and solicitation of financial support; including attendees, sponsors and auction prizes for the event. Work with the Special Events Coordinator to plan the event and help to ensure its success. Attend and volunteer at the Walk for a Lifetime event. SPONSORSHIP SUB-COMMITTEE MEMBER The Sponsorship Committee will develop plans for soliciting individual, corporate and in-kind sponsors for Walk for a Lifetime. In addition, this committee will ensure that all sponsors of the event are recognized properly during the planning and the actual event plus a thank you letter. Specific Job Duties * Develops a comprehensive list of potential sponsorship opportunities and in-kind needs * Coordinates this effort with Development Staff and Committee Chair. * Solicits individuals and businesses to establish sponsorship relationships based on the goals and criteria of the plan. * Ensures that all donors, underwriters and sponsors receive proper recognition before, during and after the event (including signage, event promotion, etc.). * Writes thank you letters to all sponsors - cash and in-kind. RAFFLE SUB-COMMITTEE MEMBER The Auction Committee will secure donated items that will be raffled off during the event. Specific Job Duties * Develop a list of potential raffle items and donors that fit with the theme of the event. * Create solicitation letters, forms, and materials for donations with help from the Development Staff. * Solicit donations. * Arrange for pick-up and delivery of all raffle items. * Send out thank you notes to all raffle item donors. ENTERTAINMENT & DÉCOR & LOGISTICS SUB-COMMITTEE MEMBER Part of helping our guests feel special is to create a beautiful and entertaining environment. Specific Job Duties * Coordinates decorations for event day. * Works with the photographer and musical entertainment (DJ). * Assists the development team in coordinating event logistics. VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT & COORDINATION MEMBER The Walk for a Lifetime event could not be successful without a contingent of volunteers. In coordination with the Development Staff we need someone (or a team) who is great at working with and motivating people, solving problems and generally helps people feel they are part of the team. Specific Job Duties * Recruits and energizes volunteers. * Identifies volunteer needs and figures out how to meet them. * Communicates with volunteers. * Can help with the organizing and delegating event tasks.

As the organization continues to progress and extend our programs to offer increased options to the individuals we serve, we are looking to continue to grow our Board. Using evidence-based approaches, we push the boundaries of traditional programs and services, helping each person we serve to discover unique talents, develop self-worth, and maximize opportunities for independence, self-direction, citizenship, and community integration. We are seeking individuals to join our Board of Trustees who have the passion to help us in fulfilling our mission. Desired qualities and abilities of a prospective Board Trustee include: Conduct business as a Board Trustee with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality. Uphold high ethical/professional standards. Have a commitment to and serve as an advocate for Spectrum360 and the individuals we serve. Have a passion to introduce others to the mission of Spectrum360. Possess the ability to bring their own talents and the talents of others to benefit the Board of Trustees. Have influence and/or affluence to provide financial support to Spectrum360. Display a willingness to address the challenges facing Spectrum360 with creative and innovative solutions. Demonstrate a positive problem solving approach. Follow through and ensure expectations are met. Have the ability to motivate others. Conduct oneself in a professional and positive manner and show respect to others. Be a team player. Be enthusiastic. Listen actively and promote straightforward, open communication. We expect the following commitment to being a Spectrum360 Board Trustee: Willingness to commit to a minimum of 6 hours monthly to the work of the organization. Attend board orientation, 4 board meetings annually, and assigned committee meetings. Attend fundraising and other events throughout the year. We need energetic, spirited and motivated individuals to act as event chairs/co-chairs, work on the steering committee, and work on the planning sub-committees in the areas of sponsorship, auction and event logistics. We’re also looking for help in terms of volunteer recruitment and coordination on the night of the event. Below are the job descriptions for each of the committees, the S360 Development team will be helping to assist you with these jobs. About the Hall of Fame: The Hall of Fame Dinner honors and celebrates one or more Corporate and Humanitarian Honorees for their contributions to Spectrum360. The event begins with a cocktail reception where guests will have fun socializing, trying their luck at super-ticket prizes, having their photos taken in the photo booth, and outbidding their friends on silent auction items. The cocktail reception will be followed by a delicious buffet meal with a variety of food stations, a short program highlighting student and client success stories, and an action-packed live balloon auction. Committee Objective: Overall execution and participation in the Hall of Fame event, including attending committee and work group meetings, completing task assignments given by the committee or working group, volunteering at the event and making a personal/business donation. The Committee supports sponsorship, auction, event logistics and fundraising to hit the event goal of $200,000 (net). Length of Involvement: April 2025 - December 2025 1-hour meetings monthly from April-August; debrief in December Bi-monthly meetings in September and October 0-3 hours per month for volunteer task assignments delegated by the committee or working group Minimum Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month. (Possible additional hours in October and November) EVENT CHAIRS/CO-CHAIRS Lend your name and stature to the event to raise revenue. In addition, this committee will ensure that all sponsors of the event are recognized properly during the planning and the actual event plus send a thank you letter acknowledging their gift. Specific Job Duties * Develops a comprehensive list of potential sponsorship opportunities and in-kind needs * Coordinates this effort with Development Staff and Committee Chair. * Develops a comprehensive list of potential sponsors and/or event underwriters and in-kind needs. * Solicits individuals and businesses to establish sponsorship relationships based on the goals and criteria of the plan. * Ensures that all donors, underwriters and sponsors receive proper recognition before, during and after the event (including signage, event promotion, programs, etc.). * Writes thank you letters to all sponsors - cash and in-kind. AUCTION SUB-COMMITTEE The Auction Committee will secure donated items that will be sold via an online/silent auction. It is the responsibility of this team to secure the best and most sought after auction items. Please note that experiences sell best in auctions: think travel, tickets to events, private dining experiences, etc. Specific Job Duties * Establish fundraising goals for the auction. * Develop a list of potential auction items and donors that fit with the theme of the event. * Create solicitation letters, forms, and materials for donations with help from the Development Staff. * Solicit donations. * Work with Development Staff for night of support (set up, spotters and help with check out). * Arrange for pick-up and delivery of all auction items. * Send out thank you notes to all auction item donors. ENTERTAINMENT & DÉCOR SUB-COMMITTEE Part of helping our guests feel special is to create a beautiful and entertaining environment. Specific Job Duties * Coordinates balloons for live auction. * Coordinates table settings,, centerpieces, etc. * Works with the photographer, photo booth and musical entertainment (DJ). * Assists in decorating silent auction table at the event. VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT & COORDINATION The Hall of Fame could not be successful without a contingent of volunteers. In coordination with the Development Staff, we need someone (or a team) who is great at working with and motivating people, solving problems and helping people feel they are part of the team Volunteers are needed on the night of the event to assist at registration, the photobook, the silent auction, the balloon auction, etc. Specific Job Duties * Recruits and energizes volunteers. * Works with all event committees. * Identifies volunteer needs and figures out how to meet them. * Communicates with volunteers. * Assists with volunteer training on event night. * Helps with organizing and delegating event night tasks. Our three campuses are located in Verona, serving children ages 3-15; Livingston, serving young adults ages 15-21 and our adult center, in Whippany serving ages 21+.
