Mission Statement

We facilitate the power of the human-canine bond, and enhance the lives of others, through the process of training service dogs and the outcome of placing them with people with disabilities.

Description

Pawsitive Perspective's innovative programs were designed to create powerful, life-enhancing experiences through working, and being partnered, with assistance dogs. We place service dogs with wounded warriors, individuals with physical disabilities, diabetic alert dogs, autism service dogs and facility/school resource dogs.

PawPADs utilizes the process of training the dogs as a therapeutic and educational experience through programs such as Project YES! (youth at risk), Prison Road Puppies (inmates) and Paw Corps (veterans).

I have volunteered with PawPADs for almost 6 years. Through their hard work & dedication to train service dogs, they have helped many people with various disabilities. They are very passionate in what they do & it shows! The dogs are always their main concern, from making sure the dog wants to learn through positive training methods, to matching it up with the right individual after their training is complete. On occasion, a dog may not be suited to become a service dog. At that point they will make sure they find the perfect home for it. Many of their dogs are rescue dogs. All of these are great reasons for becoming a volunteer with this great organization!

I have been volunteering with PawPADs for the past five years. With this organization, you "get as much as you give." It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in which I have ever taken part. Working with the dogs, taking part in their journey, watching them grow, seeing them get matched with their new partners and taking part in their graduation is amazing! Knowing that I have contributed to the success of these dogs and their future journey is a feeling like no other. I am proud to volunteer for an organization where the dogs start making a difference in the lives of others before they are even placed via programs with youth at risk, inmates and veterans. PawPADs is dedicated to their goal of using the power of the human-canine bond and enhancing the lives of others while using the process of training and ultimately placing service dogs with individuals with disabilities. There's an ad that says milk does a body good; well, PawPADs does the body, mind and soul good :)

Pawpads is a great non-profit organization that routinely changes lives (both canine and human) by placing service dogs with their human partners. I have volunteered at Pawpads off and on for the past several years and now feel like a part of the family. I feel my help and support is always appreciated and I have the satisfaction of knowing that I am making a difference. If you would like to make a difference check out Pawpads and their volunteer opportunities.

This organization changed my life. I initially started to look for a volunteer opportunity as a distraction from ordinary life and after 5 years of volunteering with PawPADs realize that I found a passion. From the organization as a whole, to the dogs to everyone at PawPADs. It has inspired me to find a new passion and sense of worth through service to the organization and the people and animals we serve.

I have volunteered with PawPADs for almost 6 years. It is a wonderful organization whose purpose is to train and match service dogs with people with various disabilities. Much love, time, effort and training go into each dog to make sure he/she is the best they can be, and then find that perfect match! It's been very rewarding to see these dogs grow and learn and go on to greatly enrich the life of his/her partner. The benefits that I receive are many, not the least being the puppy kisses! I have also made many terrific friends there. Can't think of any other place I would rather volunteer!

(VIA GreatNonprofits.org) My family was looking for a volunteer opportunity and was referred to PawPADs by another volunteer. As dog lovers, we expected to enjoy the experience, but we became inspired by the passion of the founders and the mission of the organization. From sensing blood sugar levels to doing laundry, it is amazing to watch these incredible dogs in action! Our family also had the honor to attend a graduation ceremony for a group of PawPADs dogs. We met the individuals and families the PawPADs dogs are helping, and heard their stories of how these dogs are making a significant difference in their lives (there wasn't a dry eye in the room). Our family is so proud to play a part in helping this wonderful organization!

People that run it and other volunteers are great-the dogs are really fun, loving, and smart. It's a great learning experience and a plain old good time for old and young volunteers. This is one of those places where you actually forget you're working because it doesn't feel like it. I've volunteered at a lot of differnet places and this is the best yet, by far!
