The phrase 'above and beyond' does not even begin to describe the ethos of the staff of Gift of Hospice, however it may be the closest words can come to explaining the way they approach their devotion. They are a truly remarkable group of people, dedicated to providing the most compassionate and comprehensive end of life care possible. Each day that I volunteered I felt incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such professional, empathetic and kind people. Each day I volunteered I could feel myself growing as a person in many different ways. The main thing I have taken away is learning how to be quietly compassionate, and slightly more understanding of this process we call life. If you are looking for a place to volunteer I could not recommend Gift of Hospice any higher. P.S Heather H. is one of the kindest people I have ever met, if you have an opportunity to work with her then you won't regret it!

Interim Healthcare San Diego Hospice was a great place to volunteer! I was able to work in the office and do administrative tasks. There was not a day that an employee did not thank me for being there. Talk about feeling needed! Heather was amazing when it came to orientation. Making it more than just classroom work. There is also room to be able to volunteer in whatever department you are interested in. Even if you decide one job is not for you, Heather and the rest of the team will work with you to find the right match whether that is going to see patients, doing Veteran pinnings, or doing office tasks. I would 100% recommend this company to volunteer with. The experience literally changed my life.

Nothing but wonderful things to say about this Hospice location. The main person I am in coordination with (other than the patients) is the Volunteer Head Coordinator/Leader, Heather Heavey. Heather makes sure that every volunteer feels comfortable with every patient assignment they are given and goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and part of the team. If ever there are questions… Heather and the staff happily answer and provide feedback. Definitely plan on continuing volunteering at this wonderful hospice location. If you decide to do so as well, you won’t regret it!

I contacted this organization to volunteer because I wanted an opportunity to give back, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a very long time. The entire team is amazing and I do not have enough good things to say about Heather, the volunteer coordinator. She is so friendly, helpful and welcoming! She helped make the whole experience from start to finish so incredible and I’m so beyond grateful to be actively volunteering. I’m finally finding an aspect of personal fulfillment that I’ve wanted for a long time, with MANY thanks to Heather and the team! I’ve already recommended this opportunity to a friend and will continue to do so!

I have no words to describe how amazing this place is. I have been there doing my work volunteer for four months and I have noticed how the staff is incredible. They are very committed, and passionate about their job. I remember when I first started my work volunteer, my coordinator was telling me about their responsibilities and the importance of the confidentiality of the information and how much they care about it. For me it tells how credible this institution is. This place teaches me every single day about love, care and respect. I love to be there and I am grateful for this experience.
