There are many great volunteer opportunities to help CRA protect and conserve the Colorado River. The Alliance team is very welcoming and excited to receive help from volunteers. They communicated clearly throughout my volunteer experience and created a very positive environment. Your work will positively impact community and environment in the Austin area and will be greatly appreciated.

This was my first experience having an internship (Fall 2016) and it was amazing! I didn't just sit at a desk and do paperwork all day. I got to go to different middle schools to help teach 7th graders about our water in Austin. I'm glad I got real field experience in environmental education and everyone I worked with was friendly and passionate about their work. I would definitely recommend The Alliance to anyone looking for a volunteering or internship opportunity!

I spent a semester volunteering here and I can say The Alliance staff does a wonderful job of not only educating their educators, the children on field trips, but also the general public. Each event for the public, whether it be a Creek Cleanup in the form of trash collection or Creek Restoration, has an educational component. The volunteers are able to walk away with more than just that "feel good" sense but also a newfound knowledge of environmental concepts. Thank you CRA!

I joined the CRA as a volunteer. They have repeatedly worked with my crazy schedule and have taught me so much about working and talking with kids in the Mobile River unit. I truly couldn't ask for a better experience working alongside people that care so much about this work! Not to mention, the work that the CRA does is so important!

The Colorado River Alliance is a great organization full of amazing people on an important mission! Interning as an environmental education intern has been a wonderful and fulfilling opportunity for me to gain experience working with kids while expanding my knowledge about water and its related issues. Professional development is offered within the program to ensure interns receive a well-rounded and meaningful experience. Perfect internship for someone who is: 1. interested in conservation/environmental science 2. seeking teaching or public speaking experience 3. interested in non-profit operations, fundraising, and event planning 4. energetic and naturally curious

I am a university student and volunteered with the Colorado River Alliance as an education intern for 3rd-5th graders during the whole 2016 Spring semester. I have an environmental science background but had never really taught kids before. However the knowledgeable and friendly staff at the Alliance (they really are the best co-workers) made it super easy to feel comfortable in the teaching role. They have a great support structure for new docents and interns with a fun curriculum that you get the hang of pretty quick. Not to mention the super rewarding experience of working with the kids and teaching them the importance of water!

Interning with the Colorado River Alliance was such an enriching and positive experience for me. The programs are well thought out and it is obvious that the people truly care about the organization and its efforts. The internship provided me the opportunity to not only educate groups about conservation efforts and the importance of the Colorado River, but also to learn while teaching and grow my own personal knowledge and skill set for future jobs. During my internship I was also able to gain valuable insight into non-profit work in order to better evaluate my options for the future. I would definitely recommend this internship program to anyone interested in educating the community about our water resources while working with a wonderfully enthusiastic group of people.

I interned as an environmental educator in the Fall of 2015. Working with the Colorado River Alliance has been one of the greatest decisions I have made for my career path. Through this internship I learned how to work in a small, fast-pace working environment and developed some practical professional skills. The Alliance team is very well organized and not once did I feel bored or out of place. Everyone is very relaxed but, at the same time, has a clear goal and are all hard working, ambitious people. I left this internship with more knowledge, advice and skills that went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this internship to anyone who would like some well-rounded, satisfying work experience. Even if the environmental sciences is not a career direction you are interested in, working with the Alliance will teach you many valuable skills that can be used in any career line!

I interned with Colorado River Alliance in the Fall of 2015. I spent most of my time educating kids on the beautiful, Redbud grounds, in addition to some office work, which was one of the greatest learning experiences! The intern program was so organized and well structured which made my semester at The Alliance that much more enjoyable. The entire staff and other interns/volunteers were very welcoming and always a joy to be around. I learned more than I ever thought I would throughout the internship and enjoyed every minute of it. If you're interested in a very rewarding, hands-on volunteer or internship opportunity and enjoy working with kids, the Colorado River Alliance is the place to be!

The Colorado River Alliance is an amazing organization that is devoted to educating children through out the Austin area on various water science concepts and water conservation. I had the most rewarding experience being an environmental education intern for this non-profit during the Fall 2015 semester. The CRA staff are the most kindhearted and dedicated people I have ever met that absolutely love their jobs. Throughout the week I looked forward to going to my internship because of the staff and what fun I had teaching/interacting with the children. Furthermore, their outreach events like green-gardening workdays, creek clean-ups, and creek restorations furthered my knowledge on various concepts, and it made me feel like I was giving back to the community. So, if you want to volunteer for an organization that is dedicated, welcoming, fun, and active then the CRA is the perfect organization to work with!

I interned with the Alliance this past summer and it was a wonderful experience. As an intern, I took part in teaching kids on the beautiful Redbud grounds and contributed to the inner-workings of the organization at the office. Both the intern and volunteer programs are well organized with many opportunities to meet other people from a wide range of interesting backgrounds. I learned so much and had a blast doing it! If you're looking for hands-on experience where your time, passion, and efforts are truly valued, this is the place.

I had an awesome time being an intern over the summer! It was a good balance between working outside with kids and working in the office. I learned a lot about teaching kids and got to see what it's like to be an environmental educator. I also loved coming in and working with the staff who are super friendly and welcoming.

The Colorado River Alliance is an incredible organization that is devoted to inspiring kids to lead water-conscious lives. During my time as an Environmental Education intern with the CRA in Spring 2013 I gained some of the best experiences of my life, both professionally and personally. I absolutely loved working with the CRA staff, because their enthusiasm and committment to the cause are empowering! From working with the kiddos to helping plan events, I was never bored - everything I did was exciting and rewarding.

I just finished an amazing internship working with CRA this past spring semester. They have great programs to teach children and families about their community. I learned so much about my community and grew a passion to teach everything that I was learning about the Austin community, water stewardship, and green gardening practices. This team consists of very passionate, encouraging, and amazing people! I feel very privileged to have worked with them this year! I encourage you to seize every opportunity to volunteer or work with CRA because they make every event/program educational, worthwhile, and fun.

I was an intern for this organization in the fall of 2014. The Alliance has a great staff and were awesome to work with. The personnel are very organized and have clear communication to all of the volunteers which I really appreciated at my time there. This org has a great mission with a wonderful group of people behind it aimed at education and community outreach for the health of the Texas Colorado River.
