We provide food, pet supplies, other valuable resources and support to help pets receive the care they need while assisting their owners in navigating challenging situations. Our mission includes breaking barriers to accessing shelters for individuals wanting to transition from the streets into shelter or transitional housing with their pets. Position Overview: The Volunteer Event Coordinator will play a crucial role in organizing and managing events that support our mission. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, along with a deep passion for animal welfare and support for those in need. The ideal candidate will be proactive and creative, adept at planning and executing events that engage the community, raise awarenes Key Responsibilities: Event Planning: Develop and execute events such as fundraisers, community outreach activities, and awareness campaigns. Coordinate all logistical aspects, set clear goals, and establish detailed timelines. Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and media to promote events, secure sponsorships, and obtain donations. Promotion: Create promotional materials, including social media content and flyers. Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in event planning or coordination, preferably in a non-profit or animal welfare context. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Position Overview: The Volunteer Street Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for conducting outreach to homeless individuals with pets, providing direct assistance, and collaborating with local agencies to connect pet owners to essential resources. This role requires compassion, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to supporting both people and their pets. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in the field, have experience in outreach or social work, and share our commitment to animal welfare. Key Responsibilities: Conduct Outreach: Engage with homeless individuals and their pets on the streets, building trust and providing information about available resources and services. Coordinate Services: Collaborate with local agencies, shelters, and service providers to connect individuals and their pets to necessary support, including veterinary care, shelter, and other vital resources. Events: Attend community outreach, health fairs and fundraising events. Provide Supplies: Distribute pet supplies such as food, water, leashes, collars, and other essentials during outreach activities. Advocate for Access: Work to reduce barriers to shelter and services for individuals with pets, advocating for compassionate and inclusive policies. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, services provided, and referrals made. Provide reports to outreach team leaders. Qualifications: Experience in outreach, social work, or a related field, especially with homeless populations. Strong communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills. As a Community Outreach Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in preventing pets from being surrendered due to emergencies. After a fire, families often face overwhelming challenges, and we aim to ease their burden by providing vital pet supplies. By delivering pet food and other essential resources, you help keep beloved pets with their families, reducing the risk of animals being surrendered to shelters. We work in partnership with the local fire departments and Red Cross. Key Responsibilities: Pick up pet supplies and food from our central location. Deliver supplies to families affected by fires within Maricopa County. Provide a compassionate and supportive presence to families during deliveries. Communicate any additional needs or requests from families to the Companion Pets in Crisis team. Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift and carry supplies (up to 25 lbs). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to be on-call for deliveries, as fires are unpredictable.
