Do you want to help alleviate food insecurity in your community? Spend between 2 - 4 hours a month and you can help families who are homebound eat healthier. All COVID precautions are adhered to and we're performing knock-and-drop deliveries. The Mitzvah Food Program of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia delivers groceries and fresh produce to families all over Philadelphia but we need some extra help so we can reach more people. Our Bala Cynwyd food pantry supports families in Wynnewood, Narberth, Ardmore, Havertown, Bryn Mawr, West Philly, Southwest Philly, Germantown, Mt Airy, and Chestnut Hill. We provide all the necessary contact info and delivery instructions, you just need to have a valid drivers license and access to a car...or a friend who has as car! Delivering with someone else makes it easier and it takes less time and is more fun! The routes typically take 1 - 2 hours to complete. Our Bala Cynwyd pantry deliveries to the Main Line are available twice a month, usually during the 2nd and 4th full weeks of the month. The bags can be picked up on those Mondays from 5 - 5:30 pm or Thursdays from 9:30 am - 3 pm. The bags can be delivered at your convenience then which makes this volunteer opportunity very flexible. If you are interested or for more information, please contact Phil Holtje - pholtje@jewishphilly.org or call (215) 832-0815. The Mitzvah Food Program runs 4 food pantries in the Greater Philadelphia area. Last year we served over 8,200 people through our delivery services, pantry hours, and emergency grocery bags. You can learn more about our pantries on our website: https://jewishphilly.org/mfp

The Mitzvah Food Program Lower Bucks County food pantry is seeking volunteers to assist with pantry hours on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5 pm. These pantry hours are specifically for Bucks County families who need some help putting healthy food on their dining room tables. The pantry is every Tuesday and we help about 50 families. We are located at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Bensalem. Call or email Phil Holtje at 215-832-0815 or pholtje@jewishphilly.org for more details or to volunteer!
