Mobility Equipment/Wheelchair Pickup Driver

Do you like helping others? Can you drive (valid drivers license)? If so, we have the volunteer opportunity for you! We are in need of a motivated, friendly individual to pick up wheelchairs and other pieces of mobility equipment from donors. All you need to do is come get the keys to our van (which has a wheelchair lift attached) and be able to find the donation location. The time commitment is low--once or twice a week--and flexible based on the donor. All these seemingly-small tasks add up to one big life changing moment for our clients: When they receive their equipment, they gain the freedom they feared they would never be able to afford.

Develop a year-round Fund Development plan with ED with strategies to achieve goals. Partner with staff to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of program messaging, fundraising, awareness, and branding. (Including social media e-newsletter.) To help with educational opportunities/ partnerships for our mission as well as advocacy/outreach to introduce us to the community that they have connections to. Helping us spread the word about our vital mobility program. Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee- As an organization that strives to enhance independence for persons with disabilities, equity is at the center of our work. Because of this, over the past two years. Renew Mobility has made efforts and strides to embed a DEI lens in our organization, which has culminated in the creation of a standing DEI committee. The DEI committee will work to apply DEI principles and values to all aspects of Renew Mobility's work - our program, website, bylaws, volunteers, and board recruitment, among others. We enhance independence through access to mobility equipment.

Description

We take donations of gently used mobility equipment such as canes, walkers, power wheelchairs, scooters, Hoyer lifts, and more and then work with the medical community to place equipment permanently with persons with disabilities in need.

As of December 2023 we served over 2050 adults/children, giving them the freedom they feared they would never have.
Help us Move People Forward with disabilities in Western Michigan.

Renew Mobility is an outstanding non-profit organization that truly embodies the spirit of giving back. I had the pleasure of volunteering with them recently and I must say, it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
