Mission Statement
Gould Farm is a therapeutic community that promotes recovery for people with mental health and related challenges through meaningful work, community living, and clinical care.
Description
Founded in 1913, Gould Farm is a private, nonprofit, residential psycho-social rehabilitation program for adults with mental health and related challenges. This healing community is located on a 700 acre working farm in the Berkshires. Our integrated treatment model blends productive and meaningful work activities, with life in a caring community of staff, guests (our term for clients) and volunteers, with clinical services to support the whole person. Guests are given the option of choosing to work on one of our many work teams: Forestry and Grounds, Farm, Garden, Harvest Barn Bakery, Kitchen, Maintenance, or Roadside Cafe.
All volunteers, staff, and their families live on the grounds, providing a uniquely supportive environment for personal and social growth. As guests get ready for more independence, we offer a program in the Boston area as the next step in recovery and community integration. Our goal is to give every individual the opportunity to gain the confidence, skills, and readiness required to build more independent and meaningful lives.
