Mission Statement

Anjellicle Cats Rescue is an all-volunteer registered 501c3 cat rescue committed to helping make New York a no-kill city. As one of the most active cat rescues in the 5 boroughs, ACR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting out homeless and abandoned cats, with a focus on city shelter and community animals. Many of these felines are sick, injured or dismissed as unadoptable. Through a coalition of volunteers and caregivers, each rescued cat is welcomed with kindness and medical care into a foster home to prepare it for adoption into a permanent, loving home. We believe that no animal should be ill-treated and strive toward a day when awareness, education and compassion have replaced euthanasia as a solution to companion animal overpopulation.

Description

Founded more than 20 years ago, Anjellicle Cats Rescue has been a lifeline for abandoned, stray, and neglected cats and kittens. Through a coalition of volunteers and caregivers, each rescued cat is welcomed with kindness and medical care into a foster home to prepare it for adoption into a permanent, loving home. We always enjoy meeting new volunteers, fosters and supporters who share our mission -- to rescue, care for and place New York City's homeless cats and kittens.

I've been volunteering for almost a year now and it's a great experience if you love cats!

Because after a recent visit to one of their locations I was completely mesmerized on how beautiful and peaceful the environment is for the cats and and potential adopters as well. I fell in love with how relaxed the cats were regardless of the numerous amount of people around them.

I would recommend this to friends or colleague because I know that they will be interested in helping cats who are in need to be rescue. I also have seen how much most of my friend and colleague do love cats.

I have a sister who is passionate as I when it comes to loving and nurturing every animal individually. the reason I say Individually is because I love having the pets full attention, it's fun.

I am the volunteer coordinator for Anjellicle Cats. They are a great organisation to volunteer for and hence I have been volunteering for them for over 2 years now. We have a team of over 100 volunteers which is fabulous but we are always in need of more! Look at our website to see what great work we are doing. Or come along to one of our orientations and see for yourself. I am sure you will find it as rewarding and fun as we all do! I look forward to meeting you all.
