In Her Shoes Foundation (IHSF) is a 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to making a positive impact on society by empowering women and girls. OUR VISION is to empower and inspire every woman and girl to be her personal best. OUR MISSION is to embrace the potential of all women and girls by providing: • Positive Influences • Learning Opportunities • Community Partnerships • Leadership Development OUR CORE VALUES form the foundation of how we conduct ourselves as an organization. A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
In Her Shoes Foundation has over 60 committee volunteers who run this organization on a daily basis, in addition to working their full-time jobs and fulfilling their everyday obligations as parents, spouses, siblings, daughters - or sons and friends. When I founded this foundation in 2008 we originally called it The Positive Girls Club. It was envisioned as an organization that would support women of all ages who were determined to make positive changes in their lives. I started hosting monthly professional development workshops to inspire, connect, educate, and support the women in our community. Today, over 10 years later, we’re now known as In Her Shoes Foundation, and our flagship program, Ready Set Girls Academy, is exceeding our goals year over year for reaching young women preventatively. This curriculum-based program is run by our volunteer group mentors and is being delivered within public and private high schools. In addition we partnered with multiple community organization who support our initiative.
Today, we are achieving our vision of empowering and inspiring every woman and girl to be her personal best. We currently have three programs and hope to expand in the next couple of years. I had the privilege to volunteer with the Ready Set Girls program during my time with IHSF. I love the emphasis on community involvement and how excited the girls were to give back to their community. The dedication of the volunteers and support from the IHSF organization provided a truly wonderful experience for young girls to find their voice, learn leadership skills, and empower one another to be the best version of themselves.

During my time (2017-2018) at IHSF, I was the Program Coordinator, and I helped the organization with their outreach of the Ready Set Girls Program into different schools, and community centers. This program helped empower young girls with extra life skills that they were not necessarily able to see at school or at home.
Although I was one of the only males volunteering at the time, I think IHSF did a great job of making sure I was able to help in a meaningful way. This organization was a great way to meet other passionate people who want to make a difference in young girl's lives in the city of Chicago.

Kasia the Executive Director and Founder of IHSF is the hardest working, most selfless and kindest people I have ever had the privelege of working with. Her heart is 100% in everything that she does. The programs that she has created like RSGA (Ready Set Girls Academy) has helped and will continue to help countless girls get prepared for what life will throw at them. These are necessary skills that these girls desperately need to learn and will help create a solid foundation enabling them to have a better future. There are no words that can describe how necessary this and other programs are. I am happy to volunteer here and would highly recommend that people join in. At this specific time in history we need to build strength, spread love, intelligence and encouragement and that is exactly what IHSF does.

IHSF is comprised of inspiring men and women who are dedicated to helping the community. It is a smaller organization where everyone can make a real impact, where everyone is encouraged to give back to the community in a positive and meaningful way.

The Foundation consists of amazing individuals dedicated to the promotion of a happy and healthy lifestyle for all women everywhere. The In Her Shoes Foundation is many things: a support group, charity, professional development workshop, and many more. The members of the organization do their very best to spread the message our mission and cultivate empowerment.

IHSF not only stands for a great cause but is filled with wonderful women to know and work with! They do a great job of keeping everyone in the loop about the organization during monthly meetings and have some great events (happy hours, lectures, shopping events, etc). I would definitely recommend IHSF whether you're looking for a serious commitment volunteer gig or a casual one.
