A furry friend can bring comforting presence thru a warm nuzzle, a comforting purr and a friendly face that just wants a pet. These gifts can also provide comfort and caring as a lasting keepsake for their families. Join our Caring Crafters team to make unique gifts of comfort, dignity and beauty for our patients. Approximately each month we evaluate and communicate what needs we have to fill our Caring Crafter closet with beautiful items to give to our patients! We provide guidelines for our projects - they may include knitted/crocheted socks, leg warmers, lap blankets, small and large quilts, catheter covers, clothing protectors, and special requests for individual patients including the pillow covers that every Spectrum Health Hospice patient receives. While the majority of our Caring Crafter projects are focused on sewing, knitting or crocheted items; we occasionally offer specialty crafting opportunities. We will send you an application and information packet. . Caring Crafters who track the hours spent volunteering are invited to educational in-services, recognition events and receive our newsletters.
