Legacy is seeking passionate, caring individuals to join our team as volunteers. Patient Volunteers are part of a patient’s care team. As a volunteer, you will make home or facility visits to offer companionship for patients and relief for caregivers. Patient care volunteer opportunities include reading to the patient, assisting with a hobby, or listening to life stories. When a patient is closer to death, it could be sitting quitely with a patient so they are not alone. Legacy Hospice provides care to all age groups during the final stages of life, including children, adults, and the elderly. Our patients will have an experienced team of physicians, registered nurses, certified nurse aides, medical social workers, counselors, and trained volunteers available to help patients and their family members . Our physician and Legacy staff work with patients to set up a comprehensive plan of care to manage symptoms and assess the needs of the family. Our patient's family or another caregiver will be with the patient, and members of our team will make regular visits to ensure their comfort. A nurse and a physician are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to give patient and family support and care. Even though a physician is a part of the Legacy team, our patient's can choose to use their regular physician to direct their care. Legacy will work closely with our patient's regular physician to give the care that is needed. Potential Volunteers can go to www.Legacy-Hospice.com and complete an application.
