Mission Statement
The RHFM owns the 33 acre property at 2077 State Rd in
Eliot Maine.
Our mission, which began in 1996 with our 100% volunteer organization, has been to restore the late 1800’s property, maintain the grounds, create community based events & fundraisers to continue educating future generations about farming history.
Last year we completed phase two of our Nature Trail, added a greenhouse and a garden. Children of all ages planted the seeds for the garden.
Description
The 33 acre former dairy farm has 14 buildings, open fields, woods, and is filled with tons of character.
Everyone that visits the farm goes away happier than they came. Working on the farm, learning about the history, lending a hand, creating exhibits and being a part of history is a unique experience.
In recent years many of the buildings have had their roofs replaced, new shelters for rare farm equipment have been built, the original Milk House was refurbished and will become a learning space, and the greenhouse project began. More shelters will be built in addition to a blacksmith shop to house antique farming equipment.
All of our fundraisers are used for the childrens programs and to preserve the 33 acre farm are raised through membership and the events held at the farm.
