Mission Statement

The Oshun Center nurtures healing and builds strength among women and their families. Developed by and for women who have struggled with addiction, violence, poverty, and homelessness in the Tenderloin, the Oshun Center seeks to establish a presence of health and self love in the midst of a drug infested community.

Description

The Oshun Center is a new program of the Haight Ashbury Free Clinics, a community-based, non-profit organization that provides free, comprehensive health care. Oshun is a 24-hour drop-in center providing resources and referrals for women and their families living in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. Our clients include homeless, low-income, multi-cultural, and/or multi-ethnic women, men, and children. Our target population will be women and their families who express a history of substance abuse and/or chemical dependency and may be victims of abuse, homelessness, and poverty. Services provided include individual, group, and family counseling, recovery meetings, child care, parenting and anger management workshops, crisis intervention, and community meeting space.
