Friday Thrift Shop Volunteer

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) San Diego is looking for a committed volunteer to work Fridays (excluding holidays) from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm in our thrift shop located on Naval Base San Diego. Our Thrift Shop Volunteers are responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support our active duty and retired military families. RESPONSIBILITIES Collect, sort and price donated items Arrange items in the sales area Check clients out using an electronic payment system Maintain accurate sales records QUALIFICATIONS Commit to the team for a minimum of 6 months Complete NMCRS Orientation and Training Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of personalities, including clients and fellow volunteers Able to lift 20 lbs BENEFITS No prior experience required in-house training provided Childcare and mileage reimbursed Build your resume Gain retail experience Opportunity to have a positive impact on quality of life for NMCRS clients Preference given for military spouses or those who already have military base access. The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private, non-profit, volunteer, service organization. As a Center of Excellence, it is committed to ensuring that all available resources are used to assist personnel of the Naval Service--active, retired, and their eligible family members-- to achieve financial self-sufficiency and find solutions to emergency needs.

The NMCRS is the friendliest group of people I have ever come across. They treat the volunteers like Gold! The training is easy to understand and well explained from a very experienced staff member. Flexibility to accommodate your schedule with many time frames to choose from. Myself am non-military and encourage other civilians. I highly recommend this organization.
