RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed everyday people. Together they use their voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty. Volunteers receive training, support, and inspiration to become skilled advocates. In time, volunteers learn to effectively advise policy makers, guiding them towards decisions that improve access to education, health, and economic opportunity. With every hour of their time, volunteers multiply their impact through the enormous power of advocacy -- whether it’s helping change policy to support millions of families putting food on the table or helping raise billions of dollars for the world’s most vulnerable children. Backed by the in-depth research and legislative expertise of staff, RESULTS advocates realize the incredible power they possess to use their voices to change the world.
Description
For over 40 years, RESULTS and RESULTS Educational Fund have been shining light on critical, effective solutions to poverty. By combining the powerful voices of civic advocates with research and oversight of U.S. anti-poverty efforts at home and abroad, RESULTS has been changing government priorities and people’s lives.

RESULTS has been very helpful for me to learn new skills and gain confidence with advocacy work. I have been able to meet with all my national representatives within the last two years I have been volunteering. Our local group is small but has provided me with opportunities to be involved at the level I am comfortable with.

The mission of RESULTS, ending poverty through advocacy at the national and global level, is effective and life-saving. The staff is excellent in supporting volunteers; providing them with accurate information and smart, nationally coordinated strategies to impact our national policy. The other volunteers are inspiring people who have hearts of gold, deep commitment to social justice and never give up. They are exactly the kind of folks I want to spend time with. As a non-partisan organization, it reaches to all political positions with the powerful message that we can end poverty, hunger and disease if we have the political will to do so. I resonate strongly to the hopeful message, the demonstrated effectiveness and successes of RESULTS and to the leadership, staff and volunteers who "walk their talk" more than any other group I know.

RESULTS is hands-down one of the most amazing non-profits someone can volunteer with. Their top priority is and always will be with helping people overcome poverty. I have learned so much about poverty, government, and advocating with them. I could never have imagined that I would learn as much as I have or be as successful at advocating as I have. The RESULTS staff have equipped me with all the tools I need to succeed and be an effective advocate. In my time here I have gotten congressmen to sign on to bills and resolutions, and even had meetings with them in person! If you want to feel like you are making a difference in the lives of others, and you want to use your position as a citizen in a democratic society to change the world then this is the organization for you!

RESULTS is a well-organized and friendly organization. They work on ending global and US poverty by focusing on equal access to health care, education and economic opportunity through political advocacy. Also, they are very flexible, which has been awesome because between work and my family I only have a few hours I can dedicate a month.
They have lots of training and support for volunteers, and most of the other volunteers I have worked with are very nice and friendly, so it's been a fun experience.
This year we are working on a bill that got introduce in the senate to end preventable child and maternal death by 2035 and also getting our reps in congress to join a caucus for getting basic education to the 59 million elementary school kids that don't have access to schools. Last year we successfully worked on getting more vaccines to the world's poorest areas. It's nice to be part of a group that's actually making a difference.

RESULTS does an excellent job of teaching me how to effectively meet with members of Congress to advocate for ending poverty. Steering U.S. foreign aid to the people who need it most is not an easy task in Washington. But with the support of the RESULTS team, I keep gaining the necessary persistence to be a voice for the voiceless.
