From helping people impacted by disasters, like home fires and floods, to supporting lifesaving blood donations, you can make a difference. The need for volunteers remains critical and constant during the holiday season. Local Disaster Responder Every day The American Red Cross responds to approximately 190 house fires across the country. Because of volunteers like you, we are able to respond to the devastation a house fire can bring within 2 hours of receiving the call that a family is in need. Volunteers sign up for on-call shifts to help provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. We are actively recruiting for volunteers who want to be part of our team in Green Lake County. Volunteers respond to local disasters within 2 hours of notification and directly help people affected by disasters by providing food, shelter, essential reliefs supplies, and hope. The American Red Cross is looking for volunteer drivers to assist in delivering lifesaving blood to hospitals, labs and collection sites. The Red Cross will provide a vehicle & training. We are in need of volunteers to drive across Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. Help deliver hope to a person when they need it most and save lives. Qualifications * Valid Driver's License + 3 years of driving experience * Safe driving record * Ability to lift 45 lbs Time Commitment * 2 shifts/month for at least 6 months * Weekday, weeknight, & weekend shifts available Must submit a volunteer application at www.redcross.org/volunteer Questions? Key Responsibilities: Greet & register blood donors Provide donors with information & answer questions Hand out juice & snacks Help at minimum of 1 blood drive a month. Average shift is 5-6 hours.
