Key Responsabitlies Consults with departments on position interviewing and on-boarding, planned growth experiences, and volunteer career development. Provides consultation, coaching and training resources to promote positive workforce relationships (employees with volunteers, volunteers with volunteers) and effective ongoing volunteer engagement. Follows up with volunteers and departments to ensure proper placement and job satisfaction. Consults with departments through the Department Volunteer Engagement Lead, regarding the leadership potential of volunteers and supports requesting departments in developing leadership and advancement opportunities for volunteers. Serves as the point of contact for reassignment or referring volunteers to other departments, or if not a fit for Red Cross to other agencies. Connects supervisors of volunteers to Volunteer Services HR relations team for mediation and facilitation of volunteer grievance and performance-related issues. Leads ongoing discussions with requesting departments about volunteer engagement cycle, roles and responsibilities working to identify what’s working and lessons learned. Helps departments build and engagement plan that is manageable and supported by the department leadership. Conducts regulars scheduled meeting with Department Volunteer Engagement Leads to ensure continued support and guidance Conducts exit interviews. Works with team members to ensure the integration of their work with volunteer recruitment, referrals and screening, recognition, and Volunteer Connection. Ensures all volunteers are properly introduced to the mission, vision, values, structure, and programs through an effective regional orientation program. Supports Volunteer Services, as a department, to ensure high levels of engagement and satisfaction for volunteers working within the department

Without our volunteers we would not be able to achieve our mission of alleviating human suffering. As a Volunteer Recruiter you would assist in finding new prospective volunteers for the American Red Cross. You will work closely with the Volunteer Services team on implementing the planned recruitment plan. This includes but is not limited to hanging up flyers, attending multiple events, creating documents geared to attracting individuals to volunteer for the American Red Cross. Share with the community the great volunteer opportunities available with the American Red Cross of Alaska. This position is based around your time. You will work closely on creating a schedule that works for you with the Volunteer Recruitment Specialist. Being a people person is a must as you are going to be talking to people out in the community.

You would assist the in capturing its mission and values with portraits, candid and/or studio shots to tell the Red Cross story. You will work directly with communication leadership to identify and carry out this mission. You must be able to Cull, edit, caption and upload your photos/video to online sharing accounts.

Do you like photography? Would you like to use that talent for good? Assist the Red Cross of Alaska create our story! What you will be doing.... * Collaborating with Communications Leadership to identify and carry out ways to tell the Red Cross story visually * Take photos and/or video at events, trainings and disasters in accordance with Red Cross brand standards * Capture portraits, candids and/or studio shots to tell the Red Cross story of service delivery * Cull, edit, caption and upload your photos/video to online sharing accounts; share select photos in a timely manner (typically same day or within 24 hours) with chapter/regional communications leadership and the social media team * Share photos/video on social media, when appropriate * Coordinate with chapter social media leads to share your team's videos and photos on social media or Red Cross sites. * Treat all clients, volunteers and partners with dignity and respect - always obtaining required photo releases. * Organize and deliver photo/video documentation, captions, quotes and photo releases. During Disasters: * Work with communications team to identify daily priorities to share visual story. * Deploy to the scene to seek out opportunities for photos/videos.
